These are just about the cutest things ever!  How could you not love an elmo cake pop!?!

I’ve never tried making any of the cake pops, but I think they are super cute and fun.  She also has one for Easter (a little chick, a lamb, and an egg!)  Check it out :-)

Today is Sunday, and normally I don’t post on Sundays.  Why?  Well, it’s my day off.  It’s The Day Of Rest (really!).  And, honestly…sometimes I need a computer and blogging break.

One solution I’ve found is to schedule posts to publish on certain days – that’s how I ended up with so many posts this past week.  I took an hour on one day and wrote 3 or 4 and then scheduled them for consecutive days.  It’s pretty handy.

But this guy has some other advice and more practical solutions if you want to be a serious blogger.  I’m not sure I’ll ever become as serious as those that have advertising, giveaways, etc.  But I wouldn’t mind.  Blogging is fun! :-)

For now, though, I’ll stick to what I know – writing about hilarious happenings at our lovely nest, and relaying the occasional recipe and perhaps other funny stories.

Blessings!

Here comes another edition (first started here) of funny small town police blotter updates. I’m not sure this one matches up to the best of all time – where a man called in about a squirrel acting strange! Yes, the police did respond, and they even relocated the squirrel!  Tax dollars at work, people.

Here’s a couple from this week:

10:11 woman reports her vehicle stolen from work; while still on the phone, it was determined that her co-workers moved for a joke.

Ah, pranks.

3:35 welfare check: call re elderly man with a walker standing on Fourth Ave west with a sign saying ‘hospital’. caller unsure whether or not he needed help; located at —, transported to hospital for appointment

I guess the police department is a new free cab service…

I just stumbled on a magnificently hilarious website, if you haven’t seen it, you must check out the Cake Wrecks website. It’s hysterical!  You can’t laugh much harder than a playboy bunny cake for a 6 year old, or the “sausage” cake for grilling season, or the distorted looking chicken-pox horse.  Here’s a sampling:

Ah, such romance at work here.  :-)

I laughed so hard looking through some of these train-wreck cakes – made by PROFESSIONALS!  Sad, but true.  Enjoy a good laugh, and head on over.  You won’t be disappointed.

Even better, she has a book!  I’m not sure I would buy it, but I’m sure Romy would enjoy it thoroughly.

For those who came over from my old site, welcome!  Don’t forget to bookmark this new URL and update any links or RSS feeds you might have.

I’m still working on updating the sidebar, but take a look around and make yourself at home :-)

1.  When they separate out half of your purchased items into 10 different plastic bags at Walmart, even if you have 10 slightly different things.  Why can’t the 409 just go with the batteries?

2.  Forgetting my cloth shopping bags at home when running errands.

3.  Shutting my arm in the trunk of my car.  No really ,this happened to me yesterday.

4.  Bad Chinese food.  It really isn’t that hard to mix rice wine & vinegar with the proper amount of chili/garlic sauce and cornstarch, and yet, it always tastes bland and blah at the local place in town.

5.  Rain on days when I really wish it would be sunny.

6.  Stores not carrying fragrance free options for the most basic of items – like soap or hand sanitizer.  I don’t want to smell like germ-x all day, sorry.

7.  Meeting people who say that our house wasn’t big enough for them…yeah, we’ve met 3 people now who scoped out our house when it was on the market, and two mentioned it wasn’t big enough for their family.  Really?  There’s 5 (albeit smallish) bedrooms and a finished basement!  What else do you want???  (baffles me)

8.  Being really tired and not being able to spend much time with my husband because of work.

9.  The fact that my shoes look like I went tromping in a jungle thanks to an unfortunate incident with a cow pow during our recent trip to Nebraska.  It’s never going to go away, is it?

10.  That I am now closer to being 30 than I am to being a college student, and yet, people still ask me “how are you liking your classes?” and “are you ready for school to start?”  I guess I should be flattered, but really, it’s not the case.
