My apologies for the delayed absence – I just returned from spending a week on Lake Ozark with 70 friends and strangers. :-) I had a wonderful time, even though the weather was terrible (40 degrees and rainy one day, 85 and humid two days later?)

Since returning, I’ve caught a cold. Wonderful! Couldn’t be better timing.

How’s everyone else doing? Anyone else have an insanely busy May?

Sorry to go MIA – I had a brief work trip for two days, and in the process, I’ve gotten sick.

Nope, that’s not me, but I feel like this – sneeze-y, ache-y, and very tired.  All I want to do is curl up with some tea and take lots of naps.

I promise to try to come up with something fun and exciting to write about for Friday, but for now – I’m going to focus on getting better.  And if you’ve got your favorite cold remedy you want to share, please do!

As my twitter feed says, I’ve gotten sick.  I think I’m having a brief affair with the flu.  Wonderful.

So you’ll need to wait for a day or so until I get a chance to take a picture and write about Thing That Broke #4.  Yes, there’s one more. Then I promise, I’m done.  Hopefully.

In the meantime, I’m going to link up to the DIY Showoff and you can stop over there and visit and check out some fun DIY projects.  :-)

Yes, I’m still sick. And because of that, I got bored and decided to design a new header for my blog. So far, I like it. I may need to change the opacity of the background picture so you can read the tagline better…

So, I have to apologize for the lack of posts.  This week has been fall break for students, which means there’s no class.  But a fair number of students stuck around to work, hang out with friends and catch up on their homework.  DH has been busy doing research and catching up after being gone in France last week.  And I’ve been catching up on my seasonal sickness.  Woohoo for my fall cold!  I’ve had plugged up ears and a runny nose and sneezing all week.  No fun.

I had great intentions on catching up on some of my own work, and I’ve done an okay job at that, but I still have a LOT to do today.  Tonight, DH and I are taking a much needed mini-vacay to here:

The Amana colonies are a nearby collection of villages (hence the name colonies) that are these little old german settlements.  I’ve heard a little about them, but it will be nice to explore a little bit tonight and tomorrow.  Staying at a B&B is always a fun little get away, and after DH’s trip away, being sick and having a kind of weird week, I think it’s just what we need.  I’l be sure to take lots of pictures for you!
